About The A.M.B.A.

The American Meishan Breeders Association ®(A.M.B.A. ®) is a Tennessee Corporation founded in October 2016. The A.M.B.A. is the only Meishan Pig Registry recognized by the Livestock Conservancy. We are  dedicated to preserving, cataloging and promoting the Meishan Breed and its Member Breeders. The A.M.B.A. operates the only on-line pedigree data base of verified pure Meishan Pigs.

The A.M.B.A.® also has secured a number of certification and trade marks related to the Meishan breed of pig.

 These Include:

A.M.B.A. Certified Pure Meishan Pig®

A.M.B.A. Certified Meishan Pork®

The A.M.B.A. Logo

The service mark “A.M.B.A.®”

Use of these trade and certification marks is at the sole discretion of The American Meishan Breeders Association ®(A.M.B.A.®).  Limited use of these trade and certification marks by active members (not trial members) is  limited. Use of all marks is subject to change without notice by the A.M.B.A. Board of Directors. No use of any kind shall be grandfathered by previous restrictions once  A.M.B.A. has enacted any changes in terms of use.Publication on this website shall constitute adequate public notice of any changes.

Limited Use of Trade and certification Marks by Members in Good Standing

All Annual Associate, Annual Certified Breeder and Lifetime Members that own at least one breeding pair of Meishan Pigs (members)  have limited use of the following trademarks and certification marks of the A.M.B.A. ® . Those uses are subject to the following conditions:

  1. Said members has had pedigrees issued for all breeding pigs .
  2. Member must be in good standing.

 

A.M.B.A. Certified Pure Meishan Pig®:

This mark may be used to identify live pigs which have been bred from registered pedigreed Meishan stock recognized by the A.M.B.A.® This mark is limited to stock (both parents and offspring)for which an A.M.B.A.® Pedigree has been issued. This mark may not be used to promote offspring resulting from crossing with unregistered,non pedigreed,undocumented Meishan. Nor may these marks be used to promote offspring using Meishan influenced pigs or other breeds of swine. All rights  defined or implied concerning these marks are forfeited if a membership expires or is revoked by the A.M.B.A.® for any reason. Use of this mark shall relate to live intact breeding capable pigs only.No rights stated or implied shall extend to genetic material, including but not limited to,  semen,embryo’s or genetic material of any kind without the previous written permission of the A.M.B.A.®

The A.M.B.A. Logo: 

The A.M.B.A.® logo as displayed below is the sole property of the A.M.B.A.® . Eligible annual or lifetime members in good standing may display the logo on their website, social media , farm point of purchase material ,business cards ,stationary and farm documents. However the use of this logo on merchandise (promotional or for profit) including but not limited to t-shirts or clothing of any kind ,calendars,coffee mugs ,license plates etc is prohibited without the specific written consent of the A.M.B.A.®.Use of this mark shall relate to live, intact, breeding capable pigs only.No rights stated or implied shall extend to genetic material including but not limited too semen,embryo’s or genetic material of any kind without the previous written permission of the A.M.B.A.®

The A.M.B.A.® Service Mark  as displayed as “A.M.B.A®.” is the sole property of the A.M.B.A. ®Eligible annual (Associate and Certified Breeder) or lifetime members in good standing may display the mark on their website , social media , farm point of purchase materials, business cards, stationary and farm documents. All annual Certified Breeder and Lifetime Members in Good Standing have limited usage rights to the following mark:

 

A.M.B.A. Certified Meishan Pork® : 

The A.M.B.A.® Board of directors assigns limited use of the A.M.B.A. Certified Meishan Pork® mark to  annual Certified Breeder Members and Lifetime Members in good standing only.No other membership level may use or display this mark. A.M.B.A. Certified Meishan Pork® shall be products harvested from Pedigreed Meishan pigs or the offspring pigs derived solely from two pedigreed and registered Meishan Pigs by A.M.B.A.® Members in good standing. Eligible members in good standing may display the mark on their meat labeling (where allowed by local or Federal Statute) website , social media , farm point of purchase materials, business cards, stationary and farm documents. However the use of this logo on merchandise (promotional or for profit) including but not limited to t-shirts or clothing of any kind ,calendars,coffee mugs ,license plates etc is prohibited without the specific written consent of the A.M.B.A. Board. No rights stated or implied shall extend to genetic material including but not limited too semen,embryo’s or genetic material of any kind without the previous written permission of the A.M.B.A.®

 

No right or access of any present or future certification or trade mark of the A.M.B.A.® is granted without the specific written consent of the A.M.B.A.® Board of Directors. By accepting membership in the A.M.B.A.® each member accepts these limitations. Further each member acknowledges that this agreement is subject to the governing law and jurisdiction of Tennessee.
